Art finds you

A word you hear - A moment you see

A feeling that won’t leave you

That’s where art begins

Not with effort .. But with awareness

Art speaks, and not just to artists

Art speaks to anyone willing to listen

There is something inside every one of us

A creative spirit, and every once in a while

It reaches out, not loudly, subtle, quietly

It taps you, and it shows you something

It asks you to notice

Most people let it pass

But if you don’t, if you do reach out and grab it

If you hold onto it and let it grow

Something will change in you... the artist

You start to see what artists see

Not because you became one

Because you always were one

Creation is not a talent

It is a Presence

Art is a seed that lives inside you

You are its garden, its soil, its water and its sun

If you choose to ignore it

I will fade and wither

But if you nurture it, it grows into something real

Something that can touch someone else

In the same way it touched you
